Timor-Leste Ammonite Fossil (89g)

A small ammonite fossil from Timor-Leste, 89 grams, collected in October 1997 — then East Timor, prior to its 2002 independence — from a red shale formation of Permian age (280–225 million years). Most of its chambers are filled with calcite crystal, a natural feature of its preservation. An approachable entry point into fossil collecting.
